If you will be moving a wine cellar, then you are in for a tough time. Since wine bottles can be extremely fragile you need to be careful how you package each one. Even though professional Dallas movers will be able to do this for you, it might be more cost effective if you do it on your own.
1. Have the correct packing materials.
Having the correct packing materials is the most important factor. If you have the money or if you are not packing a lot of bottles, then you can buy the actual wine boxes that are designed for this job. This boxes have Styrofoam cases in the inside that fits six bottles of wine. Once you have placed the bottles in the Styrofoam case, you will then put them in a cardboard box that will hold the Styrofoam case closed. Finding these types of boxes can be a bit of a hassle since they are not very common. For this reason, it is always important to start with your Dallas movers. Your Dallas moving company may actually sell these boxes, or they may even have them available for rent during the move. By using these boxes, you can rest assured that your bottles of wine will survive the entire move without a single scratch.
2. Be cautious when packing.
If you do not want to spend money on fancy wine boxes, then you can always try to find other ways to safely pack these items. A lot of the time, people will store the bottles in plastic tubs in order to transport them. When putting the wine bottles in plastic tubs, however, you need to make sure that the bottles are securely placed and that they are not touching each other. The contact of the two bottles will cause them to break if the box experiences any sudden jolts. For this reason, you need to device a way to somehow pad and separate each bottle that will be in the plastic bin.
3. Expect the worst.
When moving such delicate items, you need to be prepared for the worst. If you are lucky, then none of your wine bottles will break during the move. However, a more realistic situation will include one or two broken bottles. Using the professional wine boxes with the Styrofoam casing tends to decrease the change of any accidents, but there is still not a 100% certainty that the wine bottles will survive, especially if it will be a long distance move. If you have the time to do so, then move the wine bottles yourself. Load them all up into your car and safely drive them over to your new location. This way, you can rest assured that they are being handled with care.
